but truly the real reason behind the anxiety is that the Chinese explosion of investment and foreign aid around the region is because we )white Aussies at least) see the Chinese as dangerous. a threat to our security. we see this but we should also question if the perceived threat is real or is it truly anxiety?
as to the withdrawal of their business interests, this is essentially the balance of new investment against withdrawal of investment. the surplus has fallen from $19B AUD to 800M this last calendar year. falling investment and selling investments = balance.
is there a need to panic? imo, not really.
