Cheer all you like, but the fact remains that renewables are subsidised and supported to an extraordinary degree, and coal would wipe the floor with them on a level playing field (sorry about the mixed metaphor). Because the utilities have to buy renewable energy if it is available, other power sources are forced to lose money even though their product is superior (eg. reliable). The result is that non-renewables become more expensive, not because they are intrinsically more expensive, but because they are being forced to take losses in order to keep renewables afloat. In that situation, of course renewables show as being cheaper, but if you just open the marketplace so that utilities can choose which power they buy, renewables will struggle. As someone who prefers lower power bills, bring it on!
