Just been looking at the various coating players and had a question/concern around the testing methods.
I have seen mention of tests using coin batteries. Is that actually a valid test?
I can understand its ok from the electrochemical aspects, but from a physical perspective a coin battery would respond very differently
to heat and mechanical stress compares to the 2170/4680... format cells. Especially important if Silicon is in the mix as there will be more physical stresses due to the expansion.
So is the next step for ATC or others to build the jelly rolls using their coated materials?
