Regeneration is an international restoration and remining social enterprise, launched by RESOLVE with backing from Rio Tinto, Apple, Mejuri, and Paul Hastings. We convert mine waste into responsible minerals and turn degraded lands into ecological and community assets.
Regeneration is needed because the World Bank estimates that over three billion tons of minerals will be needed to deploy the wind, solar, and geothermal power, as well as energy storage, required to achieve a climate target of 2ºC. Remining waste from past mining can help meet this need.
Launched in November 2021 by RESOLVE, with backing and an initial investment from Rio Tinto, Regeneration is a public benefit corporation (B-Corp) that produces biodiversity, community, and climate positive minerals for the energy transition, green tech, and sustainable brands through remining, reprocessing, and restoration. We improve environmental and socio-economic conditions, including restoring biological and ecological systems such as forests, streams, and wetlands.
