Hyundai, like every other manufacturer, is concerned that the cobalt bottleneck will provide challenges to the EV revolution. We need to see battery prices fall to make cars cheaper and have more mass appeal. Hyundai, in particular, operates in the value segment where price is a major factor.
The interesting thing is that they are going ahead with major EV development anyway:
