Dig it up, ship it out, you can’t be happy with that anymore. Turning comparative advantage into real advantage by value adding and vertical integration is good policy. When car manufacturing left our shores way more jobs were lost with the peripheral businesses than the actual car plants. The US is first world and they want to keep their car, truck, farm machinery plants.
The argument of ‘we can’t compete with the cheap labour’ is crap, it’s about will.
