It is gonna be hot day today so the water beckons shortly. One final thought on the problem of Co supply. At the moment 98% of Co supply is produced as a by product of either Ni or Cu production. So I was wondering if it was possible to develop a metallurgical process to extract Co only from those Ni & Cu feedstock ores. I suspect this has been an area of historically little
or no research BUT imagine the impact on Co supply if some smart engineer was able to design such a process. It would revolutionise the economics of Co extraction and enable the world to realise its EV ambitions. Maybe somewhere a smart engineer is already starting to get his/her head around this substantial opportunity. The patents would be worth a bob or two!
