The chinese are only interested in the product. They have a guaranteed offtake agreement at a discount for years to come the details of the deal are still a mystery? But I believe it is at a reasonable discount! Why would the cost of production be of any concern? The buy price is linked to other factors not production costs.
Contrary to popular opinion the Chinese are not interested in the short or medium term SP, dividends or otherwise. If in the short term the the Co does not make $billions and no dividends are paid who cares? They are interested in a 10 to 20 year time scale by that time the "deal" negates any short term gain in the SP they win even if the SP sits at $1.50 for the next 10 years. Their investments are made for the long term I am sure they saw lots of info that the shareholders have not it largely depends on what bits they were interested in.
