Curious as to others thoughts regarding a self implemented code of conduct.

I have been reading the threads over the past week and it seems that we have gone backwards again.

    Distasteful thread headers
Blatant insults towards our political leaders and towards each other.

The justification seems to come back as well your side said 'this' first so it's only fair you cop it back.

How about we have a simple rule that if it would be printed in 'letters to the editor' then we don't post it.

In regards to the insults I mean. Nice to have some banter and debate the points but the Gillard and Abbott insults are just childish and rude imo.

We don't want to over sterilize the forum however we do know that it has been put on notice by HC admin

When I was modding it was pretty good 90% of the time.

Now are you lot going to make me have to put the blue star on again?

    lol

any suggestions for do's and don'ts?

Do some here think it is ok to say the things being said? It does appear that it appears ok when one side says it but then they scream blue murder if the other side does. (both as guilty as each other with this one)
Can't see how we can have the political forum not have the same set of guidelines applied as the rest of HC?
