    It is both the lie (or broken promise) and the tax which concern me.

    While you believe in AGW and the necessity for the tax most Australians don't. I believe most Australians don't because Lib and Lab went to the election with a promise not to introduce a carbon tax. Clearly both thought it in their interests to be elected.

    Those who believe in the tax should argue the merits of their case and put it to the electorate as Mr Howard did the GST. I think it is dishonest to be elected on the basis of no carbon tax then introduce it without the trouble of convincing the people.

    I hope some on the AGW side also see that introducing this tax on the back of a lie is not proper. The ends do not justify the means. It is both improper and a tactical error for AGW proponents, their cause is mingling with deceit.
