    WPL/ENI announced that Alcan has signed with them for gas to NT plant - that's a major potential NT customer for the PNGPL gone. It makes it less likely and certainly less likely to go via NT. Now its Comalco or nothing.

    It is also possible that the PNG guys (Mr Somare and the other one) may know something about Comalco's intentions - perhaps they were the ones buying this morning when everyone else was selling???
