The only positive that i see with the share price being so low at the moment is that we are going to scoop up millions of shares in the buyback at great prices. In the future when coal prices rebound it will mean as shareholders we will then get increased EPS and dividends as a result. It also helps execs lets be honest too as they can spruik that the EPS has increased but overall I consider it prudent financial management at the moment to be doing buy backs rather than higher dividends even though I would love higher dividends atm.
