I wouldn't be so sure on that perspective of the working class. Without critiquing the pro/con of trumps policies we can all point to the feeling for the working man of a system that hasn't worked for them for a few decades.
Those working folk will support trump for 'doing something'. This is reflected in his approval ratings already. Time will tell if they still feel the same in a year, but for now trump has a green light to continue. I do find it funny that the chattering class can bemoan a system that entrenches inequity as the rich get richer and favouring capital over labour at nearly every turn, but go into a tailspin as soon as the market comes off 10%, the market that by and large is owned by the top echelons.
I dont know which way this plays out, and the risk of a global recession/depression cannot be ruled out. It all depends who blinks first and what deals can be made and if trump feels like hes 'won'. There is likely a bit of schadenfreude from the working class seeing the market tank tbh, even if they are somewhat hurt by their 401's etc as well.
Interesting times, we are seeing the global order re-arranging right in front of us and I have no idea how this plays out. Forever an optimist that things will be better in the future*
