100%. Time will tell, but its been a while since a president had at or above 50% approval rating. This all goes pear shaped and that will collapse and you will likely see trump back pedalling on the tariffs, but likely too late with the damage being done. My point was only that at present, he has a window where he is being given benefit of the doubt by the public, and that is fast closing. He also doesn't have a second term to worry about, and 18 months until mid terms.
