People don't realise it was a cunning plan by Canada, UK and some EU buddies to sell off the bond market in an attempt to outsmart the Orange man. And it worked brilliantly, check mate Donald.
On the tariff front , realising the above, those who hold US debt have the power , yet the Orange man is still trying to lie his way around that by saying everyone wants to negotiate. He doesn't realise they have lots of ways to hurt the US.
On the corrupt insider trading front, he gets away with it and so does his rich mates, family and followers who got the tip off because he is immune from procecution and has the power to pardon all his buddies. Doesn't make it right, and you never know, there may be enough of a swell of dissatisfied people who voted for him to throw him out of office in one way or another. But I bet there was a few Democrats who were awake to what was going on and did some of their own.
So I now want to comment on how this plays out for WHC. From face value the coal price has been relatively supported related to some other commodities like oil. But in saying that I still believe prices will probably move sideways during this period and best case scenario for WHC is to buy the dips and sell the spikes.
Some chance that China will stimulate to support their economy which will see demand for Coal increase and support price relatively speaking.
Also need to factor AUD vs USD as I expect the USD will go through a rough devaluation.
