I don’t know but to me there’s more upside for met coal than thermal coal. The sources available for energy like renewables, hydro, gas etc etc are plentiful around the world. Thus demand for thermal coal is weak and is in over supply. To turn this around requires other forms of cheaper energy to increase in price.
On the other hand the alternative sources for met coal are none.
I know that due to oversupply in met coal it finds itself in a similar situation thermal coal.
However will this oversupply tighten to under supply or for that matter at least match demand. It’s seems as though nobody really knows except me.
