Tariffs are inflationary. I think Trump is slowly understanding this - hence all the backflips, exceptions, and pauses. If interest rates come down too quickly, inflation ticks back up, and everyone is back to square one with interest rate rises.
It's almost as if Jerome Powell and the Fed seem to understand and know things a bit better than Trump, who has had 6 companies file for bankruptcy.
It's ridiculous to say the least. The Fed were getting the job done before Trump decided to roll the dice with his antics.
