    i would have thought that a developer would be interested. but with all the leases etc it may not be feasible to tie up so much money waiting for leases to expire, or even to buy them out.

    but yes. a total disaster if true. however, you make $ when you buy real estate, not when you sell. so perhaps centro bought at a good price some time ago?
