Iv;e had them all my life, maybe twice a year but as Iv'e aged less frequent, always on the bottom lip and can be painfull. You can buy a cream which is difficult to keep on your lip or you can buy tablets ? I use my wifes perfume shhhh, spray a little on your clean finger and dab it onto your sore several times a day, it stings but helps imo.After-shave also works.

I would not shave the area, grow a mo for a few days if it's on your top lip..
