    Secondly stevo,

    You seem to be pretending to be quoting the IPCC. What you are quoting isn't from the IPCC at all but from somewhere else.

    Where your mystery quote does mention the IPCC it seems to be the 2007 report rather than the latest one.

    Is there a reason for this?

    Are you saying your imagined "17 year pause" was being discussed in 2007?

    If so the the period of your imagined "pause" includes the all time record hot year of 1998.

    Why would 1998 be included in your so called "pause"?

    Why do some of the other hottest years on record appear in your "pause" as well? (Whether the "pause" ends in 2007 or continues to the present.)
