Tom, No I am not saying that thermal power stations are going to shut down globally, what I am saying is that there is no intention to build any in Victoria. As the current thermal plants are shut down over time, Coldry will no longer have any waste heat for their process. Currently Coldry is planning to use a brown coal thermal plant that is so inefficient that carbon taxes will make it eventually close, to produce a black coal substitute that cannot even be used in the plant. I see a technology that has not yet been implemented running out time and with very limited applications.

The engines are still in development that is why it is a longer term vision; the fuel production needs to be proven at commercial stage first.

No this is not a joke, you seem to assume that all power stations need to based on the current thermal design. Ask yourself why we don't drive around in steam cars? We use internal combustion engines which are far more efficient; they can also be started instantaneously so production can more accurately be matched by demand.
