    A good read SP3,

Anyone interested in ESI should take 30 mins to read it. Its from a reputable source independent of ESI. Its 12 years old, but the info is still hugely relevent. CO2 emissions are vastly more relevent now. Coldry is the answer to the papers questions/hopes, as we are now seeing by the recent ESI announcements. Friends of the Earth should especially take a peek !

"The ( brown ) coal does, however, have a number of advantages over black coal that open other potential markets for dry coal and dry coal products. These advantages include the relatively high reactivity of the coal, its low ash and its relatively low concentrations of pollutant forming species such as sulphur, nitrogen and heavy metals. Trace element concentrations, including heavy metals, are generally an order of magnitude less than that found in Australian black coal."

I know Rupe has referred to the low ash and pollutants of Coldry before. Nice to see it quoted here. How much lower than black coal, it doesnt say, but it must be significant to mension it. Its much preferrable to having higher levels of pollutants obviously. Louise didnt mension this fact did she !
A huge selling point for Coldry over black coal.

" The principal challenge facing the expansion of markets for dry low-rank coal and its products centre on the cost of drying and processing the coal ."

Another huge tick for Coldry, which utilises waste hot water from nearby power stations, therefore Coldry has extremely low energy costs as opposed to the WEC type heat/squeeze processes, and can be transported ie exported.

"With higher energy prices and/or the introduction of cost effective drying and processing technologies, the possibility of expanding the market for dry low-rank coal and its products, both domestically and internationally will increase substantially."

Missed that one too Louise !

" The largest industrial and commercial supporters of CRC Power Generation are ..... Loy Yang Power; Yallourn Energy; Hazelwood Power........are demonstrating a clear commitment to the long-term future of power generation from low-rank coal in Victoria and South Australia in a cost effective and environmentally responsible manner."

The recent MOU with Loy Yang will take care of the Coldry need for a coal source and waste hot water.

"Victorian brown coals can generally be mined and delivered to an adjacent power station at cost of less than $5 per tonne. This compares very favourably to black coal which usually costs $30 to $40 per tonne at the power station but may in some case be available for about $20 per tonne."

Brown coal still at $5 per tonne or less, but black coal now $80/tonne. So Coldry is vastly more attractive now than in 1997.

" The fuel cost does, however, starkly show the strategic advantage of low-rank coal in power production."

How do you think the potential 1524 power stations world wide will take to the coming franchise Coldry revolution ? ESI now have the staff coming to put " potential " into " actual "

From the Monday company making ann :

" This deal has been brokered with assistance from Podium Energy, which confirmed TinCom had partnered with Ocean Bank W60, partially owned by Petro Vim - Vietnam’s State owned oil company. Podium Director Doug Townsend said the Coordination Agreement was the beginning of a new era for ECT. “While this is the company’s first major deal for the supply of Coldry, we will be continuing to negotiate others in this global market, which appears ready and willing to back our technology,”

Petro Vim could be likened to WEC's BHP big brother. Instos will love it.

Remember how enthusiastic the Indo people are to do a deal ? Maybe ESI will need to start exing some in the money oppies soon to fund a call centre ! About $10 mill can be raised by exing oppies....with NO more dilution.

    Back to the article :

"The "Coldry" process is based upon research performed at the University of Melbourne in the 1980s (John et al, 1989) and is currently being developed by Maddingley Technology Pty Ltd "

The Calleja bros are patient people. Now they are set to become the ESI major shareholders.

Just a few points I picked out from the article.

    In summery :

Coldry is environmentally friendly as opposed to the current brown/black coal burning. Coldry is economically attractive as opposed to black coal, transportable, and NOW has the management/cash/initial deal to power on.

    Just need the IP !!
