Since the production of a useable Coldry product is fundamental to ECT’s commercial success, not just for Coldry but for Matmor also, the company should provide evidence of successful trials with AKD and the Tassie company before the Indians visit Australia. If ECT had been successful with these trials, the companies concerned would have committed to future purchases of Coldry pellets and it would be reassuring for the Indians to learn that ECT had won ongoing business in Australia based on the success of these trials. ECT is the only current producer of lignite-based solid fuel in Australia (another producer is planning to commence production next month) and Coldry is competitive with LNG on a cost per kilojoule basis. The companies that trialled Coldry surely would have committed to ongoing purchases if the trials had been successful, as the company has alluded to but without providing evidence of future purchase commitments.
