As discussed on another forum, it is because of the lack of competition and extremely poor anti trust laws down in Australia.
Aldi whose “strategic review” resulted in them having been kicked out of Denmark due to the Social Democratic Government of Denmark are known for chronic understaffing, low quality, poor standards even involving best before and expiry date products on the shelves not to mention the high prices and land banking.
Woolworths have had problems in NZ changing their brand due to poor customer reviews from Countdown to Woolworths, have been chronically underpaying staff as alleged by Victorian Government who has proceeded to fine them, along with high prices, chronic understaffing and poor customer responses.
And then we have the Australian government who should be in charge of Coles, Woolworths and Aldi but Albo does not act like Danish Prime Minister Marte Fredriksen.
You would think Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and their Albo are enjoying the cost of living crisis? That do so little, if anything, about it.
Perhaps they believe they are untouchable and will not be punished?
