I'm actually quite forgiving of CEO's not being perfect under an interview. A media interview is stressful and appearing perfect to the general public on them is not a true indicator of if they're good for the job.
However in the case of the duopoly, they are both publicly facing businesses so there is a big problem when they have a blunder on national TV.
I guess what I'm trying to say is charisma does not always = the best person for the job and often can result in an extremely unqualified person who's likeable.
In this particular case the problem is that both coles and woolies have been making blunders outside the TV screens, for some time now. (Disclaimer should be not held)
