watso, you so much remind me of my dad = looking for reduced to clear bargains. Always said I wouldn't grow up like my dad but I have turned into him with myself like your self looking around the meat / dairy and vegie sections for rtc items. Even the g/f complains that I "leave" her when I enter the shops having a quick run around to pick up some RTC's.

Dad thought he was an good bargain price shopper until one day we ended up in Karratha WA. It was a Saturday afternoon around 4pm, shops back in those day were not open on Sundays so majority of the meat / dairy etc.. were all RTC.

When we got into the shop we saw all these people milling around the meat section but not shopping was so strange to see, checked out the meat and saw nothing "worthy" of buying at those prices. Then as we were leaving the section the man came out with his black texta and sticky labels.

Well it was all on, this poor guy would of been swarmed by 15-20 people, arms over, arms around and even arms between his legs grabbing the first package of meat he decided to RTC. These people were like seagulls, grabs the item he was reducing if you like the price you take it, if not you let it go to let someone else snavel it up. Some cases you would have 5-6 people holding onto the item as he is writing the price then it is all on who owns it. "I had my hand on it first blah blah blah"

Dad and I were literally amazed at the site we were seeing. This poor guy after 30-45mins could easily called in a hard days work from all the pushing and shoving these people threw upon him just to get bargains.

    I'll never forget that day.
