Hi Marm you are correct there was no honey at my local WOW for a few days they had a notice nearly
the size of an A3 piece of paper on the shelf advising customers
Don't think honey lovers will have a problem getting stock if they are prepared to pay more via more expensive outlets.
If you go to the majors then you may be disappointed on supply from time to time, because of like actions re PTL and many other manufacturers them having to produce & supply at a lower price
Beekeepers getting older and already leaving industry, the majors might want to be careful how hard they push participants and industry on price, its not milk.
ACCC might be interested?
misleading and disceptive conduct if price is effected and consumers are paying more than be
They recently took action on FRM and in the past other cartel arrangements involving large ASX listed companies have not escaped without penalty
Imports might be the norm of saleable product in full or part going forward.
Bottom line see price going up for quality Aust product to be enjoyed rather than questionable o/seas import.
There will always be neiche markets for small local hobby producers but at an inflated price like when you buy jams@ Salamanca or Red Hill markets great quality products but worth the premium.
