Aram,
First, let me thank you sincerely for your contribution to this thread. Really appreciate your Coles and Woolies research. I'm moving house atm so I confess I haven't checked. It is quite concerning.
Having said that, we supply Allowrie with their (Argentinian?) honey so that is us. We also own Wescobee, so you are looking at Capilano, even if we can't supply demand perfectly.
Also, it's worth noting that I saw a tub of manuka honey at $35 in a pharmacy the other day, and there is a real craze for beeswax products. BTW Andrix I may have forgotten to mention that angle to you, but it's significant. My beekeeping friend tells me beeswax for pharma prices skyrocketed and we have a monopoly there, because you can't use the cheap stuff due to heavy metals. FYI goblin pesticides are killing the bees but the contamination of honey is mostly antibiotics (deliberate, to keep bees alive) and in China heavy metals (because poisoned land).
Good research Aram but you've got the ex-div date wrong, it was 26 June. I call this a clear buy at $5.70 and if it got to $5.50 I would have to buy more and get overweight again. Sadly I did sell down a bit at about $6 a few weeks ago to finance a purchase of KME at 20.5c. Still holding an average size position of CZZ though I do agree there is significant El Nino risk. there is a point at which supply is so low we double margins but there is also a point where we just don't have honey and like Aram, that's what I'm worried about.
Aram, First, let me thank you sincerely for your contribution to...
