    re training as "something else" - what an insight !! When I grow up I'd like to be a "something else"

    If you are going to write such a condescending post at least try and provide some kind of point

    Your typing analogy is just inane.

    Technological change provides an immense headwind for young people who are attempting to get on the job ladder and those who are lesser skilled. Even if 99% of the population has a Phd, there will still be those that are lesser skilled Phd's who end up working in menial jobs.

    So, what is the "something else" that you propose people trying to get on the jobs ladder should retrain for?

    The only growth areas I can see in Australia are regulation and compliance.
