Here is an article which proves once again we are getting ripped off by these chain supermarkets. An increase of 590% for avocados. They are ripping us off based on a false drought claims in some cases. The farmers are doing it tough, the funds should go to them not supermarkets.
I was in nz last week and their meat bread and fruit and veg was much cheaper less half what we pay in most cases and tasted so much better. An example was pistachio nuts were $3 a kilo I come back to woolies and they were $19 A KILO!, apples were half at around $2-3 a kilo here we pay $6 a kilo!
What is going on in this country Australians are getting ripped off and with cars and electronics as well with our dollar so strong all imports should be reducing instead the importers are pocketing the difference and using forward trade contracts as an excuse to keep prices high.
