This morning I took a visitor from Melbourne to Bunnings in Cairns as he wanted to get some P2 face masks. Said you cannot get them anywhere in Melbourne. Got to Bunnings, predictably no stock. I said to the visitor, "how is it that they are all sold, but you don't see anyone wearing one?" He laughed. We went to a pharmacy where I had seen some weeks ago - they still had some, so he bought the purchase limit of 5 per customer.
Went to a local Coles (Westcourt) and you'd think it was Christmas Eve, really busy, lots of full trolleys. No toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, rice (only small bags of brown left) tiny bit of pasta left, tomato pastes etc nearly all gone, limit of two mince meat per customer, sign in the bread section warning that they cannot make anymore of certain products as there are no supplies. By close tonight I would think it will be pretty empty.
Two and a bit weeks of mad March to go...
