I had a person scrutinize my signature some time back. Not sure which place it was. I think I had to sign again just to be sure. (It was a big department store/ food shop)
However after we were done I went straight up to the front counter and asked for the manager.
On his arrival I proceeded to tell him what a good worker he had there, checking signatures on credit cards.
If I had my card stolen I would hope my signature was checked for authenticity.
