    Hi Blurrt

Yes, in the good old sweepstake days there were a few punters who backed Repsol.

I have also had a leaning towards them lately but they do seem to be very involved with the Americas and Europe. I can't find any aspirations towards Oz on their website but they do have an affiliation with Gas Natural to develop an integrated gas project in Angola. Perhaps they want to join MEO in a similar way with Artemis and Tassie Shoal.

They also had a 3Q report release 12/11/09 - just before before our AGM when they may have had a partial board meeting.

The thing that put me off Statoil and Petrobras is the insistance by the CEO that they are an independent Co. I can't get my head around how independent a partially State owned company is?

You're right about the other criteria esp 'brand name' and the present board room battle would delay the joint announcement. They will probably need a current chairman's name to put down as a signatory.

Of course, we like to speculate don't we:>))
