A topic briefly touched on was the end of the "golden age of Islamic science".

My understanding is that this age was doomed when religious fundamentalists took control.

Perhaps a good lesson from history that tells us that we should not let the state become a instrument of religion in any shape or form.

The fact that some are trying to push a religious agenda under the radar is in itself an indication of a lot to hide.
