For those that don't understand impeachment process "The impeachment process begins in the House of Representatives with a " passage of resolution listing the charges or "article of impeachment "against the official being impeached . if passed by the house, the articles of impeachment are considered by the senate in a trial presided by a chief justice of the peace from the Supreme Court with 100 senators serving as jury. if the senate votes in favour of conviction by 2/3 super majority 67 votes then the senate will vote to remove the official.
"if the senate doesn't convict the official then the official is acquitted "
In layman term if the senate does not convict then the official is not impeached. Really isn't a difficult concept to understand only the senate has the power to impeach , " the House of Representatives can only pass a resolution listing the articles of impeachment to the senate. The senate is the only body that can impeach an official and even then it needs a 2/3 majority to remove the official. Which means Trump can only be impeached by the senate
