Thanks for your reply. I'm exaggerating when I say it fizzles. When the solution turns a pale amber colour, sometimes a few bubbles form on one of the electrodes, which turns a bit blacker than the other one. I always use Noble water which is pure .
If one were to use gold wire must it be 100% pure AU or 24k good enough? Silver wire is 99.9% Ag.There must be commercial outlets .
