What is all this nonsense about no profit no value? Surely you guys are not serious. There is value in a company that has even carried forward/accummulated losses on it's balance sheet. In fact from a takeover point of view this is sometimes, although rare, seen as a very valuable tax break. Anyway this is getting off the thread of SHV. SHV owns land, trees and a processing plant. These are real assets that do not need to be earning a single cent to be of value. It's like saying GOLD has no earnings so it has no value. Let's get real. I do agree with you that if there are no earnings the share price will suffer massively but at some stage people look at an NTA and say this company is worth something. It's my belief this would have had some minor influence on the rally the past two days from $2 to $2.26 (the last quoted NTA price).
