Combet went on and on about temperatures rising every decade since the 1940s. As though he was trying to justify the need for action. I thought the science was in, or so we're told. If so why blather on about it so much?
So lets accept for the sake of argument, that we have to take action. There is not much we can do at home, - after all even at full throttle we only produce 1.5% of world pollution. So the only way to make a difference is to stop all coal exports overnight. Only Indonesia exports more than we do.
Yes, that should make a difference, I think. We hope, maybe, probably, - or maybe not?
The bottom line is that if Combet and his mates had to cop a penalty of even one dollar for any of this, none of it would be happening.
