The article you linked to referred to yet another person misquoting Mr Abbot.It didn't quote Mr Abott verbatim.

What I understand that he said at acommunity meeting is "The science behind climate change is crap". This statement has been deliberately misquoted as "climate change is crap". It seems to be a ploy to attack him by attributing to him something he didn't say and then attacking that which he didn't say.

I like many believe the climate has, is and will always change. Climate change is not crap. However the science attributing climate change to man made CO2 may or may not be crap.
