At 50:22 a question is asked about whether or not they would revisit the acquisition of Sky, given the issues that caused the Comcom to block the Vodafone-Sky in 2016 no longer exist.
Interesting to listen to the commentary. Vodafone not looking to enter the content game like Spark. They have $1B cash on the books after selling Tilt and feel that that money would be better spent on other hard assets as well as improving their network etc.
Very wise of them, or a missed opportunity that would have enhanced Vodafone's value considerably over time? Personally, I think if Vodafone was merged with Sky they would take #1 Telco spot in NZ within a few short years.
But Marko and co get paid the big bucks to make the big decisions, not me!
