The OP is basically right, I think.
Bernie is the one to watch now. It should have been a contest between Trump and Bernie last time, as people didn't want Hillary and wanted change, not more of the same. While I wasn't a Bernie fan, I note that Republican voters in town hall meetings ended up agreeing with many of his policies, which is interesting.
Looking at why the Iowa caucus was such a mess, there's a range of reasons. Not only the app not working properly on all devices, but the back up. Ring up HQ and be put on hold for hours, and/or send a PHOTO of the ballot via email. I'm not kidding. It was that bad. So half the precinct captains (who appear not to be tech savvy) never used the app, just rang up HQ when they had a result and sat on the phone for two hours.
There is one Bernie complaint that is worth repeating. In some precincts there was evidence of gaming the system. The voting was divided into different rounds. Bernie would get double the vote of any other candidate in the first round, then there appears to be some collusion between supporters of other candidates to vote strategically to minimise his lead in the subsequent rounds. That may be covered by MSM sometime soon, but I haven't seen it yet.
