DJ MARKET TALK: Comex Copper Stabilizes At Lower Levels
1435 GMT [Dow Jones] - Comex copper remains sharply lower after equities
tumbled on more sub-prime concerns, a trader says. "We're seeing liquidation in
all of the metals," he says. Another build in LME stocks also dented sentiment.
Copper has stabilized at sharply lower levels, however, as equities and
stock-index futures also recover from their weakest levels. The Sep S&P 500 is
down 11.40 points to 1,492.50 but up from a 1,471.50 low. Sep copper is down
8.10 cents to $3.3580 but has held at the $3.32 low hit roughly three-fourths
of an hour into the pit session. (ALS)
