Comex Dec Copper Paring Gains After Record
1453 GMT [Dow Jones] - As precious metals are down across the board, "copper
is the only one bucking the trend," says Scott Meyers, senior trading analyst
with Pioneer Futures. "Copper's still holding on to gains." After hitting a
contract high of $3.7670 a pound, Comex December copper is paring its gains but
still remains in positive territory, up 1.75 cents at $3.7090. The metal is
giving back some of its gains as profit-taking is starting, and weaker precious
metals, a softer euro and a stronger U.S. dollar are also weighing on the
contract, Meyers says. A weaker stock market is also fighting against
