If you buy shares in an exploration company and hold them in the expectation it will actually mine something there is a small chance you will end up very rich--and a large chance you will lose all your money. Someone once said only 1 in 10 projects gets to a feasibility study and 1 in 10 of those goes to production. I don't believe the odds are quite that bad, but they are not good. That is not to say money cannot be made trading exploration stocks, but you have to treat it as a game of pass the parcel.
