here's the latest rumour (from a Comex trader):

several international gold miners such as one or more Sth African mining companies who are currently holding a substantial stockpile are proposing to set up an international web site to sell direct to the public in the format of an auction much like eBay auctions, mainly because they see that they could sell at a substantial premium to the London and NY paper markets

apparently Bill Murphy and associates of GATA and LeMetropole Cafe have been approached to support the concept and are very keen on the idea

interesting possible development but maybe nothing will come of it
