The beauty of that is they are "informed customers" (much better to work with someone who knows what they want - scope definition). But he also slipped in an inference that they were ripe for the picking, importantly I believe not that Buddy would take advantage of them in their distress but more that there would be less haggling over the cost. Another benefit of working with informed customers is they know what stuff is worth.
