    Commander Jumps On Talk Of A$2.40/Shr Bid

    Commander Communications (CDR.AU) rockets after senior trader tells Dow Jones company likely to receive A$2.40/share takeover bid, possibly from
    SingTel's (T48.SG) Aussie unit Optus. CDR currently up 11 cents or 5.5% at A$2.12 on
    unusually high trade of 10.4 million shares. Another source says Citigroup crossed 7
    million CDR shares earlier today at A$2.05. Optus declines to comment, CDR boss Adrian
    Coote not immediately available. (LMF)
