Bounty Industries Limited commence second production unit at Aquila
Mine
The Board of Bounty Industries Ltd (ASX Code: BNT) announced today that a second
production unit has commenced mining in a new panel of coal at the Anglo Coal
(Capcoal Management) Pty Ltd managed Aquila Colliery (German Creek mine, Central
Queensland)
Over the last 10 months Bounty has invested a significant amount of resources into the
Aquila project. This is a long-term project with the potential to create sustainable
earnings for the Company. With the two units operating, in different panels of coal, with
the major mine infrastructure now in place and with better mining conditions, the Board
is now confident that the Aquila contract will meet its forecasts.
In making the announcement, Mr Mark Gray, Managing Director, said, “We have agreed
with Capcoal to accelerate the commencement of the second production unit to boost coal
production from this high-quality coking coal seam. We are now operating one unit with
shuttle cars, and the second unit with battery powered una-haulers. Our next move is to
replace the shuttle cars with a continuous haulage system and through this we aim to
improve productivity further. We are now also mining in better conditions and this too
will to improve productivity.”
