Craig Connelly, managing director of Melbourne-based fund manager AR Capital Management, said ABC Learning appears to be selling the assets very cheaply. "That's a controlling stake in what ABC Learning management have been saying is their growth platform -- for a very cheap price," Connelly said. "Private equity operators don't pay up for distressed assets," he added. "It will be interesting to see how the market reacts to this, but at first blush, it doesn't read well."
