    Hi Steve,

On a portfolio level, WLE and WAA also beat the index for the 12 months to Dec (although no where need the performance of WMI).  WAX and WAM were still ahead of the index going into Dec, but had a terrible December as the ASX “emerging leaders” were decimated and the portfolios moved to cash.  I appreciate that these figure are before fees and that they’re no where near some previous years results ... but still at the reasonable end of fund manager performance and this was an off year for them (still well ahead over 3, 5, 10 years and since inception for these funds).

I do however share concerns re activism - it didn’t work with Aurora or CTN/NSC.  And I’d also prefer to have Chris there too - but Wilson’s did well before him and hopefully will continue on with his vastly reduced role (Director of just WAM I think?).  Catriona has impressed me so far - hopefully she’ll continue with the Midas touch.
